This is an interesting article. I'll just paste the link in here because once you read it you might want to read some of the other topics linked to it on the page. Please read it and comment here.

As for me, I'm not sure if I'm surprised or not, but I am disturbed that atheists are being used as some sort of scapegoat. I mean, I suppose it figures what with the fake war on Christmas being blamed on atheists and their apparent wish to destroy everything Christian, but come on! I'm agnostic myself, and I don't want to take anything over. I may not understand or agree with religion, but I sure am not going to go in and ruin it for them. I figure if they find religion to be helpful, good for them, but I'll never understand its appeal. Anyhow, make sure and cut and paste that link into your browser, read the article and comment. If you need me to cut and paste it here I can.

first, thanks for posting this article; I think it's a necessary part of educating society as to what atheist/atheism is truly about.
I agree that we're the most disliked minority, but disagree with the article's view that there aren't many of us in America. there are more than people think; we just go unnoticed cause most individuals aren't outspoken about their beliefs.
what needs to happen is more people need to come out of the closet so to speak, and not give a damn about what others think/how they're perceived. if people can be outspoken about being religious, we as atheists have every right to do the same.

Anti-religion? If you don't believe...Anyways, it's nothing surprising since Pagans are "Satanic" in most Christian churches...LOL!!! SSDD.

Hmm, history repeats it self, proving once again, some Religious groups find it easier to pick a scapegoat than address the issues they see in productive ways. After all, if things got truely fixed, who would some groups look down on and use as threats to keep there flocks from bolting? Its sad some groups or sects or churches belonging to some groups/sects resort to these kinds of things. Mabie I'd be more open to a religion as a hole if those of some religious perswacions Didn't discriminate, judg, put down and/or abuse those who don't think like they doo. It seemes religion hasn't come as far as the rest of the world has sense the dark ages. Now, there's just other ways of austrasizeing and punishing those who arn't like they are.

I totally agree with the last post. But I also agree with Chelsea. I don't care what any article says about us, as long as we know what we believe, and unless religion ends up controlling the world, I will continue not to care. I'm not antireligion by any stretch of the imagination, but I am not going to allow myself to be told that I am wrong for not believing what the majority believes.
